BIO: Hi! My name is Poppy and I am told I am a Rottie Aussie mix. My mom calls me Poppy because when I get excited, I pop up in the air like a pop rocket. I am on the smaller side – around 35-40 lbs. I was pretty shy when I first came to live with my foster mom but after a lot of patience and love, I pretty much rule the house now. My foster mom has taught me how to sit and to wait. We are working on some other commands but I am a little stubborn. I am also kenneled and house trained.
My favorite thing to do is to play fetch in the yard. I will run after balls and freebees. I am pretty good and bringing the ball back and dropping it at your feet so you can throw it again and again and again! There is nothing better than playing fetch! I would be a great companion for flyball, agility or even a running partner. Am very fast. I have a lot of energy and I am very smart.
Right now I live with three other dogs – my foster brothers play with me a lot and are teaching me how to be a nice dog. I really enjoy Rocco because he also has a lot of energy and can somewhat keep up with me most of the time. We love to chase each other in the yard and wrestle around as you can see in our video – it’s so much fun! I also live with 4 cats. The best thing about the cats are their toys!
My ideal home will be a home that will show me patience and continue to teach me how nice it is to be loved by a family. I also enjoy some downtime after a good workout and will crawl in my foster mom’s lap or chair to hunker down for a nap.
UPDATE — I just started basic obedience training, wish me luck! We will post videos of my progress so stay tuned!
Also, I had a DNA test done click here to see the results!
Won’t you consider being my fur-ever home? I promise to love and make you laugh every day!
Love and Paws,
