About Mocha

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Current Size: 49 Pounds
  • Current Age: 1 Year 8 Months (best estimate)
  • Reaction to New People: Friendly

Who doesn't love a good Mocha?  They are rich, sweet and make you feel warm and fuzzy inside.  That describes this little girl to a T.  She loves to snuggle, just adores sitting next to you for petting and will even try to climb into your lap to get as close as she can.  She gets along very well with the 6 other dogs she lives with both big and small after a slow introduction.  She CAN NOT live in a home with cats or other small (non canine) animals, there are no exceptions.

Mocha is around 2 years old but still has all her puppy energy.  She does like to chew on toys and bones so we keep a fresh supply of them handy for her.  She is totally housetrained and has never had an accident in her foster mom's house even after being crated for a full work day.  She likes nothing better than to curl up next to you when she's ready to relax.

This girl is as well behaved as dogs come and would be a wonderful addition to any household.  She absolutuly adores children and prefers them to adults.  She has just followed kids around and can't stop trying to cuddle and lick them.  She is up to date on all vaccines and is spayed.

She has also attended basic obedience classes for the last year and has become the model student.  She knows sit, down, stay, come, heel, drop it, give, wait, get back, shake and others.  Mocha would make a great candidate for competitive obedience or agility due to her wonderful food motivation and attention skills.  She will listen to anyone, even the children, so although she is energetic, she minds better than most dogs.  She also earned her CGC title at our recent Rottapalooza event which consists of 10 tests the dog must pass.

Test 1: Accepting a friendly stranger (not nervous or barky)
Test 2: Sitting politely for petting (No jumping or rude sniffing)
Test 3: Appearance and grooming (Allows brushing and ears, feet and mouth handling)
Test 4: Out for a walk (walking on a loose lead)
Test 5: Walking through a crowd (No pulling or trying to get to others)
Test 6: Sit and down on command and Staying in place (Basic obedience skills)
Test 7: Coming when called (From 20 feet away)
Test 8: Reaction to another dog (No rude behavior or growling)

Test 9: Reaction to distraction (Loud noises and ability to stay calm)
Test 10: Supervised separation (Left alone for 3 minutes with no barking, whining or pulling)

As you can see this girl has quite a bit of manners under her belt just waiting to be shared with a forever home that she can call her own.

If you're ready to open your heart to a wonderful loving dog then look no further. Mocha would be more than happy to greet you each morning with hugs and kisses.
