March 2, 2015 Update:
Gabby is a delight as always. She still very attached to her foster dad but makes time for love from the rest of her family. She is enjoying being a taste tester to her foster home's new dog treat recipes. And being a role model to the others makes her day. She likes to show off when we are asking Bear to sit and he refuses she will get next to him and sit, of course she is hoping there is a treat involved. She is still working on a few tiny things and then she will be off to funny tricks. She is not the same dog that walked into MARR a few months ago!
February 1, 2015 Update:
Gabby has continued to improve every single week and sometimes every day since she has been in her foster home. She has been working with her foster home on not leaving the sit position for meals until a command is given. Gabby has also learned that when her foster family leaves, they will be back.
Gabby has a long way to go with her trust issues, but her foster home has been working on her interactions with children, and she has been responding wonderfully! Hopefully she can keep up the great work because we know her furever home is out there somewhere!
January 20, 2015 Update:
Gabby is doing awesome! She learned how to play with the other resident dogs, so she no longer plays alone. Gabby has learned so much yet she still tries to get away with things now and then, like counter surfing, but her foster home is working on that.
She loves to go for car rides and will sit in the drivers seat waiting to go some place. She hates it when her foster dad leaves without her, because she has really taken to him! She is really starting to become a great dog and is ready for her next journey!
December 28, 2014 Update:
Gabby has been working on her counter surfing and baby gate skills and has been doing really well with everything! She had a great Christmas and got a whole bunch of new toys. Gabby has also gained almost 10 lbs which is awesome because she was way underweight when she got to her foster home. Things are going great with Gabby and she can't wait for her furever home!
December 15, 2014 Update:
Gabby is new to MARR and has been settling into her new foster home. She was adopted from a Kansas City shelter and then returned years later because her family didn't have enough time for her. She is getting along well with her foster sisters and brother, though so far she prefers play alone, she throws the toy then goes after it. She loves to have her belly rubbed and she loves treats. She does not get on the furniture but loves to ride in the van especially now that she has her own harness seat belt. She has a few things that need to be worked on but given time she will be an awesome part of a forever family.
