BIO: Lluvia is a 5 year old spayed female Rottweiler. She is up-to-date on all vaccinations and microchipped.
Lluvia is NOT CAT/SMALL ANIMAL FRIENDLY- this was from one of the MARR fosters that helped place Lluvia with me. I did let her sniff the cat at our barn, on a leash, and she didn't seem too excited or interested, but that's not to say she wouldn't think one that was running from her wasn't prey. I'm not going to test the theory. She does seem to be fine with other dogs, she seems to be quite playful. She LOVES people, although she seems to be a little wary of men. With a slow and proper introduction, she does fine. Once she knows you, she's all about the cuddles and belly scratches!
She will be seeing the vet soon for what looks like entropion in one eye, and also some type of weakness in her hips/back end.
UPDATE: Lluvia's hip x-rays were fine and she is probably just wiggly due to a restriction of movement as she grew. She had correction surgery on her eye on 7/6/17.
Lluvia (AKA Lulu around here ;) is like 90 lbs of rottie puppy. She doesn't have a lot of manners to speak of and she is learning the basics like sit, down, her name, no bite (she does a lot of mouthing and grabbing like she would with a litter mate) and potty training. She does walk nicely on a leash and she WANTS to please you, so she's relatively easy to train. She is sweet and easy-going. She's not super active but every once in awhile she will get silly and run around. She does like to play tug of war with her foster fur sister and wrestles a bit with her fur brother. I don't think she's spent much time in the house prior to now, because things like the toilet flushing and the AC kicking on seem to surprise her. She is a master counter surfer- that's something we are working on. She's slowly learning the rules to being civilized. That said, she really enjoys being outside and takes long naps on the deck. But her favorite thing of all is CAR RIDES!!!!! You don't walk by a car without her hesitating, hoping a door will open so she can hop in! She's learning to stay in the back of my Durango rather than walking all over the car while she's in it. She's made a ton of progress in a week and a half!
Updated 8/30/2017: Hi! It's Lluvia! I've been working really hard at learning commands that my foster mom says I should know. I'm REALLY good at sit, and pretty good at down, too. I even know the hand signals! Sometimes she tells me to STAY, and I'll sit there and look at her until something else catches my attention and I have to go check it out! But then she always puts me back where I was and tells me to STAY again... it must be important to know that! Last night, mom and the kids ate supper outside on the patio. I REALLLYYYYYY wanted to help them eat their food, but Mom told me to SIT DOWN STAY near the table. I tried really hard and even though Mom had to put me back a couple times, I did really good! I got a treat when they were all done for trying hard.
