Name: Ace
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Sex: Male
Weight: 80-85 lbs
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Age: 18 months
Good with Men: Yes, his previous owner was a male
Good with Women: Yes
Good with Dogs: Yes he is good with other dogs that are not aggressive and that love to play. I would say small dogs and cats would not be a good fit for him. He plays too rough with my small dogs for their size and they are snapping at him to stop but he won’t .  He plays with the other resident rottweiler a few times a day in the back yard with no issues.
Good with Cats: I have an outside cat that he chases and would not be good around cats.
Children: Not for sure since I don’t have small children at home but the man I got him from had children.
House Trained: Yes
Crate Trained:  Not completely
Medical Issues:
Immunizations:
Rabies: 4/19/23
Parvo/distemper: 11/30/23
Bordatella: 4/29/23
Heartworm test: 11/30/2023 negative
Characteristics: Ace is very friendly and will jump up to meet strangers; if people bend to pet him he slips to the ground for belly rubs.  Ace was an outside dog at some point but he was also allowed in the house and is for the most part housebroken. He has been an inside dog at my house and has some accidents during the day if I am
not paying attention to him.  He gets ahold of things and won’t let go until you offer a treat. I made sure to hold his food bowl and also
hand feed him his breakfast and dinner and have no issue with resource guarding.  Ace does very well in the car!

Notes from evaluator: Ace is a very friendly, playful pup with lots of energy and is very excitable! He showed no hesitation with strangers when I walked into his home, and nearly knocked me over several times from jumping up to meet me. The jumping is really is only issue, and that is easily trainable and resolved through proper socialization and exercise. He has knocked over the adult woman in the house before, so kids under 12 probably wouldn’t be compatible until trained.

Ace was rescued by his current owners from someone who kept him chained up outside. He now lives with another Rottie, and three smaller dogs. Despite his friendly nature, the small dogs do not like his size and play style. So the owners are forced to section of parts of their house to keep them separate.

Ace is extremely food motivated and takes treats gently. He will go into a crate if coaxed with treats, but is not completely crate trained. Ace is young and playful and knows sit, wait and down.  He has lots of potential and just needs some basic training.  Because of his large size and even larger goofy personality, a rottie savvy home would be best!!
