BIO: Mansford, Manny for short, is a sensitive, loving, loyal, playful and protective dog. At 12 weeks old, he completed a “puppy preschool” to socialize him. His current owner took him every where with him. At 5 months old he completed a basic obedience program and he started out being the class clown, biting his leash when trying to teach “heal” and many other clown like antics, but ended up out performing every dog in the class. He is very food driven, so training with treats is very easy with him. He’s also had additional training. With his drive, he would excel in agility or advanced obedience competition with some dedicated training. Manny loves pretty much all outdoor related activities. He’s been backpacking, even carrying his own pack, and he’s done overnight canoe trips on the river. He loves playing fetch, loves hiking and swimming, and does great with car rides, typically falling asleep in the back seat. Manny currently lives with two cats, and even with a high prey drive, he does fine with them. He tends to be a very strong personality, so if he is to do well with another dog, he would need very slow introductions and the other dog would need to be VERY easy going. He will definitely need a very strong leader and handler, as he will push boundaries with anyone who doesn’t set them. He is definitely more on the dominant side than submissive so he requires strong leadership. He has all the makings to be a great dog for someone who is willing to continue his training, set boundaries, and be a good leader for him.
