Characteristics: We have a 3 year old Rottweiler names Prada surrendered to the shelter on Nov 16th, 2021. Owners did not have enough time to spend with her. She is a very sweet dog that seems to not have had a lot of socialization before she came here but is very nice to everyone she meets. Evaluators notes: Prada loves to cuddle and be petted and scratched. Very easily focused if food is involved. Truly seems to be looking for her own person to devote herself to. She want to belong to someone and warmed up easily to this evaluator and was laying her head on my lap by the end of our visit. She needs training and leash manners, but should be easy to do this with once she is allowed to explore wherever her area will be. It seems her former owners did not allow her the freedom to explore her surroundings and she really is curious and wants to know what is around her before she wants to be corrected. She seems to be in a “new discovery” mode since being at the shelter because she is being allowed to go in the yard and take walks, etc. She has become more friendly with shelter staff as she gets to know them.
