Characteristics: Titan was reported to be roaming an area for two weeks and we were asked to assist trapping him. We set a live trap and caught him three days later. Titan is a young Rottweiler that was never taught to be a dog. It appears he was not socialized and new people and new situations scare him. He will react out of fear especially behind a barrier such as kennel or fence. Titan has came to trust and love a couple people at the shelter and with them he is friendly and gives kisses. He can get a little overstimulated with play and has jumped up and was mouthy. He redirects well with saying down, turning your back or with toys. He is VERY food and treat motivated. He has never reacted to a dog at our shelter, even when they are reacting to him. We have not had him interact with a dog yet, he sees them only through the fence but his body language shows positive behavior. Wagging tail and play bow. He was introduced to a cat yesterday and he appeared scared of them. He walked completely around the cat to get as far away from it as he could. Titan will guard his favorite toys and food but he was caught as a stray and had to fend for himself. Titan has a ton of potential and will need continued professional training and socialization but with the right adopter he will make a wonderful companion!
