Gets Along with Dogs: Yes, with dogs her size. With small dogs or any small animals she will chase and try to play rough with them. There have also been several times at the dog park where a small dog will get picked up by the owner and Boots will jump up to try to get the small dog.
Gets Along with Cats: No. Same with small dogs. She will fixate on them and try to chase. She also does not understand or listen to cues from other animals such as hissing or growling – she will continue to try to get to them instead of backing off. This has not improved since we adopted her (we own 2 cats and the lady at Revive Hearts Rescue said she was fine with cats).
Housetrained: Yes
Crate trained: Yes
Gets Along with Men:  Yes,
Gets Along with Women: Yes
Gets Along with Kids: Not in my opinion. She gets excited easily and will jump up or accidentally knock them over.  No small children.
Temperament: High Strung, Playful
Needs Experienced Owner:  yes, high energy, needs basic manners
Special Needs: Boots will need a home that is ready to help her use up all her energy.  Do you like hiking, obedience, nose work or agility?  If so, Boots is your gal!!
Boots is very sweet and affectionate, loves belly rubs. Her only motivation is with food/treats, and that seems to be the only way to get her to obey any command. Even after a year and many attempts at training, basic commands such as “off, no, or leave it” are ignored. I do not recommend a house with small animals or small children for her. Ideally she needs a fenced in yard, or will need to be kept on a leash at all times since she is not trustworthy to recall or not chase anything that moves. She is a huge puller when on walks, the only thing that helps a little is a gentle leader with a strap over the nose. Boots does not seem to understand her own size and will run into or knock over anything in her path. I don’t mean to point out all her negative qualities, I just want to provide full transparency to ensure her next home is fully prepared for her personality. Again, she is very sweet, but training has been a huge struggle with almost no improvement.
