Name: Apple Jacks
Location: DeKalb Animal Services, Chamblee GA

Contact Info: Nicole Hooper (nhooper@dekalbanimalservices.com)

Rehoming fee: Rescue transfers never have fees. If a member of the public wants to adopt, then adoptions are usually $85.
Sex: Male
Weight: 86 lbs
Spayed/Neutered: Neutered
Age: 1 yr
Good with Men: Yes. His former owner was a man. His owner came looking for his lost dog and identified Apple Jacks as his. When he learned that Apple Jacks had been neutered (he was past his stray hold), his owner decided not to reclaim because he had been planning on breeding him.
Good with Women: Loves them. And they love him back.
Good with Dogs: No
Good with Cats: Given his behavior towards other dogs, we assume he would not be good with cats, though have no way of testing that at the shelter.
Children: He hasn’t interacted with children at the shelter, however, he has never shown any reactivity to people whatsoever.
House Trained: Likely, because as soon as he got out of the car on a day out, he immediately ran to go to the bathroom. He did not make a mess any of the times he was in the car. He also did not use the bathroom when we took him to Petsmart.
Crate Trained: Unknown.
Medical Issues: He walks with a limp on his left hind leg (something his previous owner had told us about when he originally came to the shelter looking for AJ). That is why his previous owner had named him Achilles.
Immunizations: UTD
Rabies: UTD
Parvo/distemper: UTD
Bordatella: UTD
Heartworm test: UTD negative
Characteristics: He loves playing with his ball and is a total love bug. He’s been taken out by different staff members at the shelter, and all will agree that he absolutely loves cuddling with people
