Characteristics: Bubba is a true older gentleman who came into the shelter as a stray. At 9 years old and 95 lbs, Bubba is a loving lazy boy. He spends most of his days napping or eating and will sit and give paw for treats- which he takes very gently. He has minimal accidents in his kennel, usually overnight, but can keep it clean if taken out within 8 hours. He does not destroy blankets or dog beds, and could be trusted unkenneled in a home alone. His interest in toys is minimal as this older boy is not much of a player. Bubba has shown no interest in small, furry animals at the shelter and we would not be concerned with him going to a home with cats or other animals. He has met a few dogs here and seems to enjoy the company, but has not shown interest in playing or rough housing. When meeting new people, this gentle giant greets on all fours and will press his head, or body into you for pets (especially behind the ear scratches). He was cat and kid tested and did fine with both. He is a tolerant boy and seems bothered by little. Bubba will need some work done to help his teeth, but he doesn’t let that slow him down. His perfect home would be where he can nap on the couch all day, spend some time outside, and where treats are plentiful. He would be a great addition to any rotty loving family.
