Characteristics: Choco/Chuck is a very loving dog that does not like to be alone. We wanted to change his name to Chuck but he would only respond to Choco so records call him Chuck but we reverted back to calling him Choco. We are moving and work doesn’t allow for adequate time for Choco. Even when just separated from one room to the next he whimpers to be in the same room with family. He’s loving likes to cuddle and get rubbed and hugged. He doesn’t like the cold. He cannot have table food. The handful of times I’d give him a little he would have runny nose movements. So just kibble and maybe some berries or Starbucks pup cup every now and then. He stole my tuna sandwich once lol. He’s really good on walks. He’s not aggressive around other animals or people. He just gets excited and curious. He does resource guard his toys and does tend to growl when I try to take away but then I firmly say down or drop it and he will listen. He’s friendly. Strangers have walked up to compliment and meet him. I took him in around October this year but I can already see he needs more
than I have to offer. It’s my first time owning a dog or taking one in and I feel bad for this but feel even worse not finding the best home and care for him.

Notes from evaluator: Choco is a wonderful boy! He is happy and energetic. He is active however he was not over an appropriate level. He was stressed when the family first adopted him however he is much more calm and relaxed and was visibly happier when the owner came home. Choco is a well behaved dog who needs to be part of a family with companionship. If I were in a position to adopt another dog, I would easily chose Chaco!
