BIO: Winston is a handsome Rottweiler Mastiff mix looking for his forever home. He was found as a stray in January under a chicken coop in Indianapolis, IN. He was almost 30 pounds under weight, extremely shutdown, heartworm positive and had double cherry eye. We know he was neglected and most likely abused/hit because he was so hand shy and he would tremble in fear if anyone got near him or tried to pet him. For the last 7 months he’s been in a foster home and has come a long way. He now weighs 108lbs, is heartworm free and has had his eyes fixed. Now that he can see clearly, he is a different dog and is gaining confidence every day. Winston is a very chill dog and likes to spend his time laying on the couch with his two foster sisters or in his crate. He loves his crate as it is his safe place. We know he lived in a home at some point in his life because he knew immediately what a couch was and took his place on it (yes, we know bad habit). He is dependent on his foster sisters for ‘moral’ support and would do best in a home with another dog or two. We have not cat tested him, but he has shown no prey drive. A quiet home with older children would also be best because of his fear of loud noises and sudden movements (he still startles easy). He is going to need an owner that has the patience to continue working with him while he continues to gain confidence and learn that people are no longer going to hurt him.
