Characteristics: Hoss is super sweet, very gentle, just a big teddy bear. He can be stubborn, but he knows basic commands – sit, down, speak, shake. He loves attention and cuddling, he’s just an old man who loves lounging. I adopted him a year ago, and the previous owner kept him isolated from other dogs, so I’ve kept him mostly isolated as well, but he goes outside with my 5 year old female pit mix and he shows no aggression, and plays well. He’s spent his whole life kenneled, he needs/deserves a couch to retire on.

Notes from evaluator: Hoss came from a breeder where he was aging out. The family took him in and got him neutered so he could be part of the family; however they don’t feel like they can give Hoss the best golden years as they have a lot going on with jobs and a new baby on the way. Hoss was super friendly and relaxed when I met him. He is a beautiful rottie with a very calm disposition. My impression is that he is a “go with the flow” kind of guy and is just a happy boy! He does great with the female pittie mix and was totally calm in the front yard on leash when another female dog walked past on the sidewalk. Although he is almost 8 years old, he doesn’t look his age and was very fast running after a ball. He looks super healthy with a shiny coat. His eyes just lit up when he saw the ball as he loves to chase after it. Hoss deserves to be doted on and loved on as he is just a wonderful dog….if you love the classic rottie look with the big block head and a dog with a wonderful disposition, Hoss is waiting to be part of your family!
