BIO: Jax is a Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix.  He loves to have attention and will sit to be petted all day long.  He loves car rides, belly rubs and treats.  He knows basic commands, but does have a stubborn streak and chooses not to listen at times.  He is very strong and will pull on a leash if he sees a rabbit, bird, etc.  Jax does get possessive of his toys or sticks that he is chewing and will growl if you try to get them away from him.  But he is a good dog most of the time and is smart, fun and lovable.

Jax has had a tough couple of months.  He tore his left ACL on June 6th and the right one on June 24th.  He had TPLO surgery July 15th on both legs and is currently recuperating.  He is doing very well with his recovery and being kenneled to stay inactive to heal.  In fact, the vet said he is a medical miracle with how strong he was within a couple days after surgery.

We received Jax from a friend of a friend to be a farm dog but that is not what he is.  He really only barks when a squirrel is in the tree.  He greets visitors by running to their vehicle and jumping around or on them for attention.  The reason we need to rehome him is we have to keep him penned up when outside because once our attention is not on him, he runs the half mile to the highway to get a car ride.  Obviously, that is not a safe situation.

Jax would be ideal for a family with no small children and a large fenced back yard to play in and be able to go for car rides and get the attention he loves.
