Characteristics: Klaus needs to be rehomed no later than Jan 6th, 2024 as his owner is moving into a company-funded apartment that doesn’t allow rottweilers.  Klaus needs a Christmas miracle to find a special owner that can work with his fear and anxiety.  Unfortunately, he is very timid around strangers and other pets, however he is very loyal to his family!  He knows basic commands, he is kennel trained and house trained. Klaus gets nervous at the vet and has to be sedated. Klaus was pulled from Momma at 5 ½ weeks instead of 8 weeks because the breeder lied about his age so that is likely a major contributor to his fearfulness and anxiety.

Notes from evaluator:  Klaus is wonderful with his family but will need proper intros with all new people.  He is food driven and will take treats from his owner.  He did not settle down enough for me to engage while I was there and acted fearful and anxious during my entire visit.  Klaus resource guards his food but is fine with his toys,  He does pull and lunge on a leash and will bark out of fear/anxiety.  Klaus will need to be housed with a trainer that can offer behavioral training and to help him with his anxiety and fear.  He needs slow introductions but shows a lot of love and playfulness towards his owners.
