She met a more nervous dog who she did better with and then she met a very high energy, over the top dog who she handled appropriately. We think she would do best with a calmer dog who won’t be in her face, however we have no concerns about her going to a home with another dog if a dog intro is done prior!

Characteristics: Sandy is a very good dog. Owner only having to rehome her because she had to move back home with her mom, her mother doesn’t want Sandy upstairs with her cats- her cats don’t like her. Owner has had her since she was a puppy. She’s gotten along great with kids, and has never had any issues. She loves attention, and just needs to be loved- and be able to roam a house and get the attention she deserves. Sandy was very afraid meeting a new dog so will do best in a home as the only dog.
Notes from evaluator: Sandy is a great Rottweiler! She is playful, very friendly to people and has been around kids her whole life. She has the rottie purr (the growl) when she’s happy and tails are wagging! She was introduced to my dog and she was very scared. They barked back and forth, eventually she did the sniffs and they were ok, but she kept behind her owner. I would recommend Sandy be in a home without other dogs. She is a wonderful rottie!
UPDATE: Sandy was turned into ARL as owner was out of time. She is doing very well at the shelter (better than most rotties). ARL tested her with 2 dogs: We completed that dog intro, Sandy did great. She met a more nervous dog who she did better with and then she met a very high energy, over the top dog who she handled appropriately. We think she would do best with a calmer dog who won’t be in her face, however we have no concerns about her going to a home with another dog if a dog intro is done prior!
