Medical Issues: Strode came to us with a severely infected wound on his neck. It was cleaned and left open while he wason antibiotics ans we flushed it daily. That is all healed other than some of his hair still growing back in. Itappeared he had been attacked by something and chewed up then it was left untreated for some time. Hehas been a little slow to gain weight but the vet is unconcerned and thinks that won’t be a problem nowthat he is off the antibiotics.
Immunizations:
Rabies: 9/14/22
Parvo/distemper: 9/13/22
Bordatella: 9/13/22
Heartworm test: 9/14/22 (negative)
Characteristics:  Strode came to our shelter as an injured stray. It is suspected that the person that surrendered him wasindeed his owner because they gave a lot of information about him and stated they had tried to treat hiswound themselves. Despite being underweight and injured Strode was still the happiest boy. He greetedall of us happily and immediately rolled over for belly rubs. He was tolerant of us treating his wound andenjoyed getting his daily meds wrapped in cheese or lunch meat. Thankfully Strode has healed well withno further complications and now just needs to gain a little more weight. His overall health is good and hehas been fully vetted.Although we have little history on Strode it is obvious that he has spent time with someone. He loves peopleand just seems to fall into place no matter what situation he is in. Everyone that meets him falls in love,he is one of those dogs that just makes you smile. He has a ton of potential to be a great dog with justa little guidance to learn his new routine. Strode will needs a little work on basic commands but he is soeasy to work with and wants to make people happy. We know he will excel once given the chance. Strodehas been great with other dogs but we are thinking a home without cats would be best. If you are lookingto add a 100+ pound lap dog to your home, this could be your guy.
