Characteristics: Tank came into the shelter as a stray and they believe Tank is good with other dogs. He met a cat at a clinic and ignored it. He is fairly easy to leash walk and always does his business on the walk. He keeps a clean pen and doesn’t even like to foul his outside run. He has accepted everyone who volunteers at the shelter, and has lost his fearfulness. Tank is a very loving guy!
Notes from evaluator: Tank is a very treat motivated guy, who is EXCELLENT on a leash! He does NOT pull, he stays beside you while being leash walked. He knows several commands, to include “leave it”, and “sit”. He does not jump up on you either. He loves to play fetch, loves to play with a ball. He’s very non-reactive to loud sounds, or other dogs. Multiple times other dogs were brought out into their runs that border the play yard and he was excited to see them, but did not bark, just wagged his tail. Raising your arm does not get any reaction from him either. He is very treat motivated. Overall he is a obedient boy, very happy go lucky. He is neutered and UTD on vaccines. See attached videos!
The shelter he is at is a SMALL one, with 8 kennels, so getting him moved sooner rather than later will avoid any potential euthanasia due to space. At the time of the evaluation, they had one open kennel.
